The purpose of World Tourism Day celebrations is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.
1. Eagles at Redskins (+2.5) – Washington has been playing out of their minds against the NFC East this year, and they’re on a 3-game winning streak overall. KIrk Cousins has a 100.7 passer rating during the streak, and the defense has 7 takeaways during the stretch. Sorry Carson Wentz, no soup for you. Take Washington and the points, 27-23.2. Colts at Texans (-3.5) – Colin hates coughing up points, but he loves the Texans giving 3.5 at home against the Colts and their Junior Varsity defense. They just gave up 400 yards (397) and 2 touchdowns to career backup Brian freakin’ Hoyer. The Colts D has allowed a criminally indictable 70 passing plays of 10+ yards this year, and Houston rookie Will Fuller has 12 Receptions of 10+ Yards. Houston’s offense is limited with Osweiler, but not at home, and not against an inferior Indianapolis roster. Texans covers the 3.5 and then some, 36-26.3. Steelers at Dolphins (+7.5) – What the hell is Colin thinking (smoking) taking the Dolphins against the 4-1 Steelers? He’s thinking that the Dolphins have a real defense. They’re 6th best in the NFL in 3rd Down Defense (33.3% conversion rate), and have forced the 2nd most negative plays in the AFC (39). The Steelers D is filled with holes and is allowing the 6th most yards per play (5.94) in the league. Also, it’s desperation time for the Dolphins. Pittsburgh wins, but the Dolphins cover at home. 27-26, Steelers.4. Chiefs (+1) at Raiders – Kansas City is getting a point with Andy Reid coming off a bye, where he’s 15-2 in his career. That means bye bye for the Silver and Black. The Oakland defense is giving up an offensive 7 yards a play, and has allowed 16 offensive touchdowns (only the Browns and the Chargers have allowed more). Colin always loves teams that1.) Get embarrassed on national TV – the Chiefs got drilled 43-14 by the Steelers in their last game on Sunday night, and;2.) Teams that have extra time for preparation. The Chiefs are both. Take Kansas City, the point and the outright win in the Black Hole, 30-24.5. Cowboys at Packers (-4) – Colin has been tough on Aaron Rodgers, but A-Rodg has 49 touchdowns and 6 picks in his last 3 years at home at Lambeau. The Pack has the best rushing defense in the NFL, only allowing 42 yards per game, which matches up well against run-heavy Dallas and NFL leader Ezekiel Elliott. Colin likes Green Bay to cover the 4 at home, 27-20.That’s an NFL Week 6 Blazin’ 5 that’s hotter than an exploding Samsung Galaxy 7!Also, make sure you download, listen and subscribe to Colin’s Blazin’ 5 Prediction Podcast with RJ Bell every Saturday morning through the end of the football season. Hear from Polar Explorers, ultra marathoners, authors, artists and a range of other unique personalities to better understand the traits that make excellence possible. Most factories make use of machines in the production process and, as a result, lots of people have been put out of work. But are service-based businesses about to face a similar fate? Will you be replaced by a robot one day? That particular question has likely brought chills down many people’s spines, but could this really be the reality we’re facing? Imagine all the different kinds of service-based jobs poised to crumble because some app or robot can do the work faster than a human would.Let’s say you normally hire tutors to help your children with their homework, perhaps from a service-based business that has a good track record and high success rates among users. All of that could change in a flash with AI — in fact, that is one of the reasons why some people are scared of AI in spite of how fascinating it is.Related: Why Businesses Keep Failing to Make the Most of AIHow would you feel if your child asked help from Alexa for their homework? The virtual assistant is fast becoming a staple among homes; you surely can’t stop your child’s urge from asking, “What’s 5 minus 3?” can you? These days all the child has to do is take a picture of their math homework, and an app can instantly tell whether the answer is right or wrong. AI also allows apps to recommend courses to users based on their level of progress in those subjects, and, if that’s not enough, it also knows what kind of questions teachers give out as assignments. What is AI?Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science developed with the objective of creating intelligent machines that can mimic human behavior and the ability to make decisions. In essence, these programs are able to study our behavior and make decisions as if we’re the one making them but, of course, a lot faster.Related: 5 Future Jobs You’ve Never Heard of But That Your Kids Will Flock toSince AI “learns” our behavior, it’s not limited by the programmer’s code. So, in a sense, it’s able to grow in knowledge on its own as we keep using it.Will AI take over service-based business jobs? There have been a series of debates on whether AI will take over jobs or not. A study by Boston Consulting Group predicted that by 2025, a quarter of jobs will be replaced by either smart software or robots. Kai Fu Lee, a renowned AI expert and venture capitalist, believes that 40 percent of the jobs in the world will be replaced by robots.Without a doubt, AI is gradually infiltrating and disrupting different industries, including healthcare and banking. But you mustn’t forget that machines have their limitations. Although technology has advanced to the point that software mimic humans, they can never totally take our place. In fact, AI will help create more jobs than it seeks to eliminate. You may need to acquire new skills, but it doesn’t mean that you’ll be replaced.Related: 4 Ways Artificial Intelligence Is Shaping the Future for Businesses Big and SmallSo, in essence, even if you use AI to help your child with their homework, it will not entirely take away the jobs of tutors who will teach kids. There will still be a need for tutors to dictate what standard is expected of students — and maybe even tutors would delve into developing AI that will help tutor kids. It’s all in how you choose to handle the technological changes that come your way. Outrightly rejecting or fearing technology won’t secure your job, but if you could develop your skills and knowledge to go along with the change in technology, then there is no way you’d be out of work. The beauty of service-based businesses is their ability to easily pivot and evolve. This kind of flexibility will work in your favor with the advancement of AI. AI is artificial; it’s not naturally intelligent yet.The final verdictAI is a bittersweet topic. On one hand, it’s one of the best innovations the world has ever seen. And on the other, it could be what brings to an end a lot of businesses because it’s smarter, faster and more efficient. However, saying AI will take away most people’s jobs is an exaggeration. It will surely change the way you do business, but it will not take away all jobs. So, there’s really no need to panic.Related: Robots Are Stealing Our JobsAll you need to do is grow and adjust to the new technology instead of fighting it. You’ll only have cause to fear when you don’t evolve with the technology. How Success Happens June 14, 2019 Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Listen Now 5 min read

Trade union Peo called on the government on Wednesday to toughen its response to illegal employment following a report stating that Cyprus is among those European countries where labour exploitation has emerged as the predominant form of human trafficking.According to the latest annual report from the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (Greta), in Cyprus the proportion of identified victims of labour exploitation grew from one third of the total of identified trafficking victims in 2013, to two thirds in 2015.The main findings of the report state that trafficking for labour exploitation is on the rise across Europe. In several countries, it has overtaken sexual exploitation as the main form of human trafficking, and official figures underestimate the true scale of the problem, Greta said, adding that there had been few successful prosecutions and convictions.Based on Greta’s country-by-country monitoring work, the report says that labour exploitation has emerged as the predominant form of trafficking in several European countries including Belgium, Cyprus, Georgia, Portugal, Serbia and the United Kingdom.According to the Office of the Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights, there are some 30,000 migrant women in Cyprus employed as domestic workers. Until recently, domestic workers were obliged to work for a certain time with the same employer, but a ministerial decision simplified the procedures for changing employers and removed the minimum time requirement.“The commissioner has received many complaints about severe exploitation of domestic workers, but complaints lodged by domestic workers tend to be treated as a disagreement between employer and employee,” the Greta report said.It added that from 2011 to 2014, 11 cases of suspected human trafficking among domestic workers were investigated by the Cypriot police, leading to 17 persons being identified as victims of trafficking. In Austria and Cyprus, labour inspectors have the right to inspect private households, but rarely do so in practice,” it said.It added that in Cyprus, there were three cases of private companies investigated for labour exploitation from 2011 to 2013, including a number of Indian nationals and one Sri Lankan who were identified as victims of human trafficking by the police. In Cyprus, it said, joint inspection units have been established in order to inspect enterprises for employees that are not registered with the Social Insurance Fund, coordinated by the Department of Labour RelationsPeo said in an announcement that trafficking of workers “is one of the worst forms of labour exploitation”.Measures are needed, the union said, to oblige employers to apply collective labour agreements but also to guarantee minimum decent working conditions for those not covered by such agreements.“Systematic and rigorous checks are required of private employment offices as well as in places where workers from third countries live and work, particularly in the farming and animal husbandry sector,” the union said. The state, it said, needed to build more effective mechanisms to support and protect victims of trafficking for labour exploitation so that victims can report abuses. The union said that it would raise these issues during ongoing consultations with the labour ministry on matters of employment of third-country nationals and require measures “to curb this inhumane practice”.On Tuesday, seven foreign nationals and the 37-year-old man who employed them were arrested during a raid on an establishment in Protaras.Their employer was remanded for eight days for hiring the men to carry out renovation work on a Protaras hotel.Famagusta district court also remanded four of the employees for four days. The three are Egyptians aged 24, 34 and 39 and one is from Syria, aged 37.Three had entered the country illegally and one had overstayed their visa. The remaining three employees were released after it was found they live in Cyprus legally.According to new legislation that has been in force since last September, employers are fined €500 for each illegal employee, going six months back, bringing the total possible fine per illegal worker to €3,500. The cabinet approved on Wednesday an island-wide scheme for the microchipping of dogs. The scheme, that provides for 25,000 microchips free of charge, aims at reducing the numbers of stray dogs and dog thefts, Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis said after a cabinet meeting.Kadis said the microchipping will take place with the assistance of the veterinary services and with the cooperation of bodies such as the Cyprus Hunters’ Federation, animal welfare organisations and district animal welfare committees.“It is an important measure in our efforts for animal protection and welfare,” the minister said.Among other measures the ministry has been taking to help tackle the great numbers of stray animals was a cat neutering and spaying programme and measures to raise awareness about animal welfare and to improve living conditions of animals. The ministry last month announced the release of three more video clips on animal welfare that aim to raise awareness about microchipping dogs, adopting shelter dogs, and neutering and spaying cats.
