first_imgFour men appeared on Monday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for attempted murder.Thirty-three-year-old Raymondville Sawh; 24-year-old Akeem Lawrence of Sophia, Greater Georgetown, Eson Henry of Lot 594 Caneview South, Georgetown, and 41-year-old Terryville Campbell of Lot 70 Louisa Road, Georgetown, stood before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to the attempted murder charge. The charge stated that on February 23, 2019, at Pete Rose and Forshaw Streets, Queenstown, with intent to commit murder, they unlawfully and maliciously wounded Visnu Budham.The four men denied the charge.Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to bail on the grounds of the serious nature in which the crime was committed.The prosecution is contending that on February 23, at about 20:30h, the VC was driving north along Pete Rose Street and on approaching Forshaw Street, Shaw drove his minibus without stopping and a collision occurred.According to the prosecution’s case, the VC came out of his car to talk to the defendant about the manner in which he drove, which resulted in an argument. Shaw then armed himself with a chopper and dealt the VC several chops. Henry joined in. The men also stabbed the VC several times, causing him to fall unconscious. Following the incident, the VC was rushed to Woodlands Hospital where he was admitted. An investigation was conducted and the men were arrested. The men were each released on $200,000 bail.
